Amrutha Pranay aka Amrutha Varshini is the daughter and only child of a business person called Tarunagiri Maruthi Rao (Late) and married Pranay Kumar (Late). She was in news for the honour killing of her husband by her father.
Amrutha is from Vysya community while Pranay is a Dalit (Mala, SC). So her parents didn’t agree to the marriage. But Amrutha and Pranay had an inter-caste marriage in January 2018 against her parents’ will. So, Maruthi Rao considered this as his prestige issue and used his influence to kill Pranay. Amrutha was 5 months pregnant when her husband was murdered by her father.

Amrutha and Pranay lived for some time in Hyderabad after their marriage. Then, the couple returned to Miryalaguda. This incident occurred when they were returning from a nursing home. As per the report, Maruthi Rao hired contract killers for an amount of 1 crore rupees. And they stabbed Pranay 5 times. He died on the spot.
Later she gave birth to a baby son Nihan Pranay on 30 January 2019, exactly on their first marriage anniversary.
Amrutha Pranay also started a YouTube channel where she shares her new mom experiences along with fashion, cooking and #diy vlogs.
