Jonathan Raven Otcasek’s parents are both involved in the music and entertainment industry. His father, Ric Ocasek (23 March 1944 – 15 September 2019), was an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. Also, he was the lead vocalist, guitarist, and frontman for the rock band, “The Cars.”
Similarly, his mother, Paulina Porizkova (9 April 1965- ), is a Czech-American model, actress and author. When they first met on the shooting of a music video for Ric’s band ‘The Cars’ in 1984, Paulina was just 19, whereas Ric was 40 years old and was still married to his second wife, Suzanne.
Later, Ric divorced his second wife and married Paulina on 23 August 1989 in a private wedding on Saint-Barthelemy Island.
However, after being together as a couple for almost three decades, they decided to get separated in 2018. But, the process of divorce was halted due to Ric’s sudden death from a heart attack in 2019.
Ric Ocasek put his wife Paulina aside against his will before his death, saying that she abandoned him before his operation. He also removed her two sons (Jonahon and Oliver) from the will.
