Nikki Delventhal is an American Youtuber, digital content creator, actress, vlogger, adventurer, traveler, hiker, model, and ex-cheerleader. She has been living in a 2006 Toyota Prius with her dog for the past seven years. She is also a former full-time Wilhelmina NY model, celebrity hair stylist, NFL cheerleader & fitness instructor in NYC, where she traded in the “glam” for full-time travel.
Nikki is famous for her self-titled YouTube channel, where she posts videos on International Travel, Tours and FAQs, Hiking, How-to, and ‘Living in a Prius’ videos with her dog, Camper.
Nikki Delventhal was born on January 5th, 1989, in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States of America, and grew up there. Initially, she started out as a solo traveler, living a minimalistic lifestyle in 2015. She found YouTube as a way to immerse her followers in her lifestyle by vlogging her day-to-day journey and the things she does as a solo traveler.
After an incredible journey and experiencing many things, Nikki has traveled to more than 55 countries and hopes to make it to 100+ soon.
Talking about her childhood background and the reason for her travel passion, Nikki said: “Growing up, I was always running around in the forest and river by our home, trying to explore anything and everything as far as I could, so I feel like it was in my blood to get outdoors, see the world, and feed my curiosity!”
“I don’t know what our parents put in our cereal, but my sisters are the same way; one lives in Costa Rica right now, and the other is currently between India and Nepal! I used to model and cheerlead in NYC full time; that’s where I really got my first taste of frequently traveling around – a good number of my jobs took me all over the US and internationally, where I really began to see the world. I caught the bug and have continued to travel ever since!“
She says that her purpose in life is to help others. She said: “I’m here to empower others to go out & live their best life, get outdoors, follow their passions… & give you a little direction along the way. How-to’s, travels, hikes, adventures & more! And, if you want to live out of your car… I’ll show you how I do it!”

Nikki started her full-time travel journey back in 2015 with her Toyota Prius car (More than a car, The Prius is Nikki’s all-time partner), and later, her dog Camper (a mongrel) joined her journey in September of 2020. Nikki removes her car’s front and back seats and uses that space for sleeping and storage. She has insurance for both herself and her Prius.
Nikki started uploading her videos to YouTube on August 18th, 2020, and her first video is titled “PRIUS BACK SEAT REMOVAL – Step 1 building out your TOYOTA PRIUS to live in!” She gradually started accumulating more and more viewers on her videos, and soon, her channel made more than 46.56 million views.
Nikki walks her viewers through her truck, where she has all the facilities that could accommodate a person for years to come. She has a built–in kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom, all in a small space.
“When I solo travel, I usually will leave a major city to go find the highest mountains, waterfalls, canyons, or the most gorgeous landscapes to explore… but never leave without taking a ton of photos/selfies like a typical tourist. I love getting around by bike! But a good subway/train transit system and your feet always take the cake!”
“I’ve been told that I am one to turn everything I do into an adventure! And some notable adventures are Skydiving, island hopping/camping around the Philippines by boat for 5 days without any itinerary and with 15 strangers from around the world, trekking the Grand Canyon rim to rim during a typhoon season, the descent into Mooney Falls on Halloween in a banana suit, and swimming with 8,000 sea lions off the coast of Peru.”
And about the qualities of her future life partner, she said:
“I like someone who knows what he wants. A challenge is fun, but there’s a certain attractiveness to a man who’s after me but knows when to pull back to allow room for my pursuit. Balance. I love it when my date is a gentleman with those old-school mentality/manners, outgoing, funny, witty, playful, engaging, and charming. I hate it when my date is late, and my biggest date fear is ‘Awkward silence.”
Nikki Delventhal belongs to a family that runs a carbon-neutral company dedicated to sustainable lawn care services in New England. Her father, Dan Delventhal, is the CEO of MowGreen, and her mother, Cynthia Delventhal, also looks after the general and preliminary duties of the company. She also has two sisters named Kayla Danielle and Shoshanna Raven. When Nikki turned 17 and completed her graduation from high school, she decided not to continue her studies.
Nikki always wished to be a cheerleader when she was in her teens. However, she failed in the auditions and thus had to opt for a career as a hairstylist and joined a hair school in Florida. Still, she practiced cheerleading whenever she got time, mostly at night, so that she could make it in the next time.
Nikki has also worked part-time as a fitness instructor. After she got the job at the ‘New York Jets’ as a professional cheerleader, she didn’t feel fulfilled. So, she decided to switch her career as a model. The fame and glamour of modeling weren’t still giving her the happiness and satisfaction she wanted.
However, when she secured a position as a ‘Program Specialist & Trip Director’ at ‘Travel For Teens’ in 2016, which is a Travel Agency, she got the opportunity to visit many countries and realized her great passion for traveling and different cultures.
Nikki actually rescued her dog Camper during one of her hikes in New Mexico in September 2020. While she was driving in a remote area with her mom on a hiking trail, she suddenly noticed in her rear-view mirror that a dog was chasing the car.
Initially, they thought the dog was with its family and just having fun, but the dog kept running for about 4 miles like it had no other choice. When Nikki stopped and opened the door of a car, the dog jumped on her lap; it’s like they were drawn to each other from the moment they saw each other. They took the pup to an animal shelter and left after paying enough to take care of that dog.
But after leaving, Nikki couldn’t get over the sad feeling that came after she left the adorable pup behind. After a couple of days, she felt that she needed that dog in her life and decided to adopt him. She named the dog ‘Camper,’ and since then, Camper has been traveling every single trip with Nikki Delventhal and has a fan following on social media along with Nikki.
